                                               OUR PROCESS

When you join our team, you'll receive a special notebook containing our
recommended protocol and specific forms we'll need for tracking purposes.  We ask
that you follow our guidelines and fax a completed checklist to the Cats Anonymous
Coordinator detailing the sterilizations performed that day.

We will provide:
Penicillin
Ivomec
Distemper and Rabies vaccinations
Advertising - we will recognize you/your clinic on all appropriate
Cats Anonymous literature, ads, etc.

We can use your expertise at our clinic or your own.

Working at one of our Veterinarian's clinics:
Bring an assistant (if you need one)
Schedule days/times in advance, along with # spays/neuters you'll perform
Bring spay packs if you can

Working at your own facility:
Determine number of cats you can sterilize and appointment  times
Let us know best drop off and pick up times for these appointments
Appoint someone (or yourself) as liaison to work with Cats Anonymous scheduler

                                           PROTOCOL

Spay or neuter
FVRCP vaccination
Rabies vaccination
Eartip (left ear)
Ivermectin
Penicillin
Pregnant or dehydrated cats should be given SQ fluids

Eartipping involves removing the top 1/2 inch of the left ear.  This is done by clamping a straight
hemostat just below the area to be removed and then cutting above it with a blade or sharp
scissors.  The cut edge can be cauterized with a silver nitrate stick prior to removing the hemostat.

Because these cats will be released the day following surgery, skin sutures should not be used.
Placing surgical adhesive over absorbable sutures is suggested.

All doctors are encouraged to use whatever anesthetic protocol they are comfortable using.  If
interested, a veterinarian from our spay/neuter team would be happy to discuss specific
recommendations.
